Welcome to the elementary art blog! This blog contains artwork created by children in grades K through 5th grade. My name is Mrs. Jaime Simmons, and I am your child's art teacher. I am so excited for you all to see the work that your children are creating with me. I will be posting various projects from time to time show everyone how creative our students are here at FPD!

I. Love. This. Scene.
My second graders are learning the still life work of Matisse as we create coffee cups with great hand-painted detail to come!
There's nothing better than a warm cup of joe on a cold January day!

Second grade newspaper dogs
These kiddos have worked so hard on their awesome dogs. They have cuts out their own shapes and ideas for their furry friends as well as creating a Jackson Pollack style background for them. I'm very proud of their hard work!
Pre Kindergarten artists
Children learn how to do a marble technique to paper with shaving cream and liquid watercolors. Gorgeous backgrounds for snow were made and we all smelled like Daddies by the end of art today!
