Welcome to the elementary art blog! This blog contains artwork created by children in grades K through 5th grade. My name is Mrs. Jaime Simmons, and I am your child's art teacher. I am so excited for you all to see the work that your children are creating with me. I will be posting various projects from time to time show everyone how creative our students are here at FPD!

Third grade art
Why oh WHY did the old lady swallow the fly? Mrs. Burgand's THIRD grade artists learn more about book illustration as they put their own twist on creating artwork from a fun book!
Fourth graders Janet Fish style work
These are a few samples of Mrs. Burgand's students work. They learned about the artist Janet Fish and created a food still life of their own. GO FOURTH GRADE!

Getting ready for Grandparents Day
Every year we have a wonderful art display for Grandparent's Day. Our art will coincide with the theme of the program which is a tropical theme. My students in every grade level are working on a separate project that will be displayed in the hallways of our fine arts building. You will enjoy seeing Eric Carle inspired sea horses and mermaids as well as dangling monkeys and tropical fish. Watch out for some surf board portraits and little boats sailing in the sea. I look forward to finishing these creations with my students and sharing them with you!
